Frequently Asked Questions

  • Initial Consultation
    Research shows that one of the greatest predictors of whether therapy will be effective is the fit between client and therapist. After all, counseling is a very vulnerable process and it requires a great deal of trust and a strong therapeutic relationship. I offer free 30-minute consultations to help us determine our fit for working together. This will give you a sense of my style and how I show up in the room. During this consultation, we will discuss your needs and what you are looking for in therapy. I can answer any questions you may have about my approach, training, credentials, or the therapeutic process itself. From there, we can schedule an appointment for our first session. However, if we determine that your needs might be better served by a different provider or service, I am also happy to provide referrals at that time. Schedule a consultation online!
  • Individual Therapy
    Individual sessions are typically 50-60 minutes and most clients attend therapy weekly or every-other-week, although length and frequency can vary based on individual needs. I offer individual therapy to adults 18 and older whose concerns fall within my clinical areas of practice. My fee for individual therapy is $140 for 50-60 minute sessions (including Initial Sessions) and $210 for 90 minute sessions. At your first session, I will gather more in-depth information regarding the concern that brings you to therapy as well as your mental health history. This will allow me to determine whether I will indeed be able to provide you the care that you need. Because some concerns require more specialized services (e.g., eating disorders, psychosis, substance use treatment), you may be referred to a therapist or agency who can provide more appropriate care. In the event that I am unable to see you for on-going therapy based on the information gathered at the initial session, you will only be charged half of the session fee.   • EMDR Therapy
    Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an eight-phase treatment that can be used to treat trauma, unprocessed disturbing events, and a number of other concerns. I primarily work with single/few-event traumas or acute incidents and concerns (I am unable to work with complex trauma at this time). To discuss whether EMDR would be right for you, or for questions related to the scope of traumas and concerns that I treat, please contact me for questions or schedule a free Initial Consultation. EMDR is billed at the same rate as individual therapy. In some cases, EMDR can require up to 90-minute sessions, especially during the reprocessing phase of therapy. Together, we can collaboratively decide whether 60-minute or 90-minute sessions will be a more appropriate fit for your needs once you have reached this phase in therapy. My fee for a 90-minute session is $210.
  • Teletherapy
    Teletherapy is a great way to make therapy more accessible and more convienient. It can be particularly helpful to those who experience geographical barriers to care (e.g., living in areas with little access to services), difficult life circumstances (e.g., caring for aging parents) or challenges in navigating physical spaces (e.g., mobility issues). Services are always provided through a secure and confidential videochat platform or securely by phone. Fees for teletherapy are the same as those listed for the services above. I offer teletherapy services to clients residing in all of Colorado.
  • Payment
    For telehealth services, payments can be made with credit/debit cards; I am able to accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Diner‘s Club, and JCB. All fees are due at the time of service. If you are a current client experiencing financial hardships that would prevent you from receiving services, please let me know so we can discuss ways that you can continue to receive the care that you need. Likewise, if you are intersted in working with me but find that cost is a barrier, please contact me to discuss various options for care.
  • Insurance
    I am currently not paneled with any insurance companies. However, I would be happy to provide you with a monthly statement or “superbill” that you may submit to your insurance provider to request reimbursement. Prior to our first appointment, please contact your insurance provider for information regarding out-of-network reimbursement for telehealth services, as different companies and plans offer varying degrees of coverage. If you are interested in working with me but find that cost is a barrier, please contact me to discuss various options for care.
  • Late Cancellation & No-Show Fees
    Life is full of surprises and setbacks that may get in the way of you attending your appointment. When this happens, I am happy to reschedule your appointment at no charge with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Appointments can be cancelled via phone, by leaving a voicemail if no answer, email, or via the client portal. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged at 50% of the session fee. No-shows (no advance notice or communication prior to the session time) will be charged at 100% of the session fee. While there are no fees for arriving late to your session, please note that additional time at the end of session cannot be provided and your session will end at the regularly scheduled time. I am also unable to provide reimbursement for unused time in the event of a late arrival.
  • "No Surprise Billing" Act
    Under the law, if you don’t have insurance or are not using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
